Sled Dogs, Travel and Local Water Issues at Wake Up in May
Dog sledding in Alaska, leisure travel abroad, and the fate of the city’s water supply will pack the agenda for the May 27 version of Wake Up Petaluma at Rooster Run.
Mary Stompe, Executive Director of PEP Housing in Petaluma, will discuss her experiences at the Iditarod dog races in Alaska this winter, while Giorgiana Domingo of AAA will talk about trip packages available through AAA’s travel department, “Triple-A Trips”.
Mike Ban, Director of Petaluma Department of Water Resources and Conservation, will discuss the challenges facing Petaluma’s water supply and distribution from now until 2025.
Sponsor for the morning is Port Sonoma. Also on the program will be Chamber announcements, a 50-50 raffle, and introductions of new Chamber.
The meeting starts at 7:30 a.m. and includes a buffet breakfast. Cost is $20 for Chamber members, $25 for non-members. Reservations are necessary – call 762-2785.

Lori Pearce has been an Advertising Account Executive for our local community paper, the Petaluma Argus-Courier, and PD Media Source which encompasses not only the Argus-
Courier but also Press Democrat, petaluma360.com, pressdemocrat.com, SAVOR Wine Country Magazine, Petaluma Magazine, Santa Rosa Magazine, and the North Bay Business Journal since July 2006. She was recognized as the Argus-Courier Employee of the Month for December 2006, and the Press Democrat Employee of the Quarter, 1st quarter 2007, not only for her sales efforts, but for her teamwork and leadership.
“I am passionate about Petaluma. I live and work here. I love to work with our local businesses and community organizations to help them promote and market their goods, services and events. I help them reach their target audience by developing a comprehensive long-term plan within their budget,” says Lori.
Ms. Pearce has been active in the community for many years and has been a Petaluma Chamber of Commerce Ambassador for the past year. “I especially like to work with new businesses,” she commented. Lori is also a current participant in the Petaluma Chamber of Commerce Leadership Program, and is working with the group to raise funds for a scholarship endowment for the TLT, Tomorrow’s Leader’s Today.
Lori’s husband, Dr. George Wagner, is a Petaluma native and owner of Wagner Health Center, Family Chiropractic Care. She helps out with bookkeeping and marketing as much as possible. Her son, Gage, is a junior at Casa Grande, and her daughter, Grace, 2½, often accompanies Mom and Dad to Chamber Events.
